A chance meetings and synchronicity that transformed the life of writer, producer and director Daniel Gonzalez. A jaded professor quits his job to embark on a journey of self-discovery. Driving in a quiet town, he almost runs over -- and then offers a ride to -- a dying man seeking a daughter he has not seen in years. While asking for directions, they are overheard by a 12-year-old who sneaks into the back of the car. Awed by her determination, the two men offer to help find her long-lost mother.
