Ice Breaker

Ice Breaker follows the extraordinary story of former diplomat Gary Smith and the role he played during the Cold War hockey series between Canada and the Soviet Union in 1972. The documentary film examines the extraordinary events that surrounded the series both in Canada and in the Soviet Union. Canadians came together as never before by the unique series of intense hockey games. It follows the unlikely enduring friendships that came out of the series.
