Two inseparable brothers tragically lose their parents and quickly find themselves in a constant struggle to survive. With little food to eat and bills soaring, Pedro, the oldest, makes the difficult decision to cross the border illegally to find a better job so that his brother does not have to interrupt his education. Pedro makes the dangerous journey and soon finds work as a servant to a wealthy family. While separated, the siblings face various challenges and eventually a romantic love affair. But will romance keep the siblings apart indefinitely? Will Pedro return to town and leave behind the new life he found in the city?
