The story of Sydir Kovpak - The Partisan Leader of the Ukrainian Communist resistance movement during World War II who fought against Nazis forces across the Ukraine and Russia while helping Jews escape to Shanghai. This story captures the life of Kovpak including when he was awarded hero of the Soviet Union title (twice) and promoted to the rank of Major General in 1943 amidst the resistance as well as at the end of the Second World War, when Kovpak held key positions in the leadership of Soviet Ukraine, including Vice Chairman of the Supreme Court of Ukraine in 1947 and Supreme Council of Ukraine in 1967 until his death.
