EVERYBODY HAS A STORY. The Danish Girl Andrea is living an empty and restless life. After following along with other peoples desires for too long, she suddenly finds herself lost in life, in a profound existential crisis, that makes her wonder: Is this worth it at all? By chance, she encounters the charismatic African priest Daniel, who introduces her to a new world of spirituality and belief. In Daniel and the Church, Andrea finds a freeing new, glorious lead in life. Forced to ask herself; Is she willing to do whatever it take to change her life? Is she ready to choose happiness? But soon she has to realize, that we can not rest on others to take responsibility for our happiness, and once again she find herself alone in life - but maybe not lost. "When the Light Burns Out" is the first feature film from Danish newcomer William Findinge. The film is made on a very limited budget, in cooperation with NCCJC (New Covenant Church of Jesus Christ) and subsidiary; Studio Miradi Multimedia. The film has no financial backers, and is made as a "non-profit" picture, where everyone involved has worked for free, with a united vision of creating an authentic experience of what it is like to become part of a vastly different culture and belief. The film stars the actual priest from the church, Daniel Mbala, and Danish actress Viola Ellehammer Dasseville, along with a large cast of real-life church members, who were all happy to participate. It is considered an experimental film.
